ニッパー模型作りには欠かせない道具の一つです。私も何本か所有しておりますが、一番多く使うのが、写真のものです。これは、20年ほど前に秋葉原の液の横にあった工具屋さんのワゴンで売られていたもので、価格は確か700円、当時は工具に凝っていて、もっと高級なブランド品が欲しかったのですが、懐具合と相談の末、高級品は後のお楽しみとして、とりあえず買ったものです。オレンジのグリップがBETAっぽい？でしょ。とりあえずだったのですが、その後バイク修理や、模型作りに活躍、他にも何本か買ったのですが、なぜか使用頻度は一番高いものとなっていました。しかし、ある日、オレンジのグリップがすっぽり抜けてしまったのでした。しばらくは、写真のように適当なテープでごまかしていたのですが、ビジュアル的によろしくないと思い立ち、レストアを決行いたしました。
