プラグコードといえば、地味なパーツの様ですが実車にしても、模型にしても手を入れやすいので最初に改造したくなるパーツの一つです。
模型の場合は、キットでは省略されているばあいや、ビニールパイプが使用されていて、実感のわかないものを、適当なコードに変更するだけでも、随分イメージが変わってきます。
実車の場合は、プラグコードを高性能なものに変えただけで、性能が上がったような気になれます。実際はそんなに変わりなくとも、バイクのカスタムなんていうのは、気分半分なので、危険性や、回りに迷惑がかかるようなもの、非合法なものでなければ自由なんだから、それでいいですね。プラグコードを変えるとき私は迷わず黄色いものを選びます。なぜなら、かつての英国レーサーには黄色いルーカスのイグニッションコードが使用されていたのが強く印象づけられているからです。英車は割と地味な色である場合が多いのですが、その中に黄色い派手な色のコントラストがなんともかっこいいと思ったものです。そして、もう一つ印象的だったのが、イタリア車に使われている布地のようなものが巻かれた上に透明の材質でコーティングがされているもの、通称こたつコードと呼ばれているものです。さすがイタリア車はしゃれているなと感心したものです。レースで使われるパーツですのでこれらは当然気分の問題でこのような姿をしている訳でありませんが、何故かはよくわかりません。古い設計のものですので、現代の高性能なコードと比べるとかなり劣りますが、その出で立ちは、他に代えがたいものです。
模型でもこれらを再現しようと考え、まずこたつコードに使用できるものをと思い、探し回りましたが、なかなか見つかりません。はじめは適当な紐があると思っていたのですが、世の中そううまく行くものではありません。あるひも屋さんに無理を言って、なんとか、作っていただいたものが商品番号8002のイグニッションコードです。ただ外径役１ミリと、ちょっと太めになっております。これ以上細くすることも可能なのですが、そうするといきなりコストが数倍になってしまうため、ここであきらめました。気になる方は、透明チューブを外し、透明の樹脂でコーティングすると良いでしょう。
そして、商品番号イグニッションコードYは 黄色に黒い筋が入っただけのものなので、秋葉原を探せば適当なものが見つかると思いきや、探すとないものなのですね、これまた特注品となってしまいました。一本筋があるだけなのですが、ただの黄色のコードとはひと味違いますので、皆さん使ってくださいね。

The photograph introduced here introduces the thing it thinks that similar, too, a thing at that time was being spent though it is a modern thing. Of course this code wasn't surely being used for all the machines.
Though it couldn't be introduced here, the photograph that the yellow code of Lucas was being used for GILERA 4 Cylinder as well in others can be confirmed from the photograph in those days. As for MV AGUSTA, the thing which a code for Lucas is being used for with the thing which a kotatsu code is being used for can be confirmed as to both.
